Lujan Matus is offering a group workshop in Whispering Palms from September 3rd-7th, 2018 in Bucharest, Romania.

No prerequisites are needed to attend this workshop. Lujan will be teaching introductory and intermediate movements and concepts combined, so that complete beginners can attend this course and learn the Whispering Palms program and be able to perform the movements easily.

Spiral Energetics/Lo Ban Pai: Whispering Palms

Whispering Palms is an energy-cultivation form that utilizes rotational postures, which stabilize the central force through the alignment of energy centers. It is a beautiful, elegantly-woven series of fluid coiling movements that trace energy pathways in and around the body.

It comprises twelve forms with gateway linking exercises that strengthen the legs. The practitioner can adapt the series in accordance with their own physical fitness levels. This allows the legs to systematically develop the power necessary for the most demanding application of the set.

The mystery of Spiral Energetics becomes palpably real as a conscious kinesthetic experience via the movements of Whispering Palms. This series enhances the perception of the magnetism that emanates from the hands, which in turn boosts the capacity to collect and store chi. This promotes the ability to connect with a deep reservoir of sincerity within the self, which fosters the elusive state of communion with spirit.

The Spiral Energetics of Whispering Palms cultivates a very potent and dense electromagnetic field. Having enlivened, absorbed and stored that energy the practitioner retains a photonic awareness of that potential throughout their day. This awareness alerts the student to the full spectrum of influences within their environment, which enhances intuitive receptivity.

Energy cultivation creates a platform for esoteric practices and Whispering Palms brings both these together by engaging the Dragon Gates. These are natural energy vortexes that emanate from the body and into the energy field at specific locations.

Learning how to, and what it means to enter a Dragon Gate is the spiritual gift of this program and the source of the name Whispering Palms. With this skill the warrior can beckon eternity, and eternity can respond in harmonic resonance to manifest what can be described as a most intimate and transformational ‘communion’.

The Whispering Palms workshop includes:

  • Connecting the palms to the dantien
  • Generating and storing energy
  • Sensing, opening and activating your Dragon Gates
  • Following energy to optimize chi cultivation
  • Developing self-correction through biofeedback
  • The art of sincerity
  • Healing meditation

This workshop does not require any prerequisites and is open to students of all levels. Lujan will teach some introductory movements that will enable beginner students to learn the techniques without the need to undertake all of the introductory programs.

The Retreat Location

The workshop will take place in Bucharest, Romania, which is the capital of Romania. It is a dynamic and energetic city, which was once known as “Little Paris” because of its architectural influences.

Bucharest has changed a lot lately, and today it has become a very interesting mix of old and new, cultivating a sophisticated and modern sensibility that you might expect from a European capital. It is a city with many excellent museums, great restaurants, a thriving music scene, interesting street art, superb architecture, extensive public transportation and abundant greenery.

The official language is Romanian, but many people, especially those young and well-educated, will speak English, French or Spanish very well. It’s also a very affordable city in comparison to others in Western Europe in regards to accommodation, travel and food costs.

Arrival and Visas

Henry Coanda International Airport is located 18 km north of the city center. Buses and taxis are available at the airport. A taxi from Henry Coanda International Airport to downtown Bucharest normally takes about 30 minutes and costs around 10 Euros.

A valid passport is required for all overseas/non-EU visitors. Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your intended date of departure.

Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most European countries do not need a visa to visit Romania, providing the duration of stay is not more than 90 days. Citizens of other countries may need a visa to visit Romania.

To check if you need a visa please go to: Romanian Visa.

We also recommend your check with the Romanian embassy to confirm the requirements for your country of citizenship.

The Retreat Center

The workshop will take place at Hermitage Urban Spiritual Hub in Bucharest, Romania. The venue was created with the intention of helping us to reconnect with the dimension beyond the mind. Sharing your presence and living your truth becomes easier together in the sanctuary of an urban temple. It is a space for contemporary spiritual life where everyone can join in the silence of pure being.

The Daily Schedule

For five days from September 3rd-7th there will be two training sessions daily; one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Each day there will be a long break for lunch and students can choose to remain on-site, enjoy the city or return to their hotel rooms.

Food

The workshop fee includes lunch each day, which is based on the concept of raw and living plant-based foods. This is the ideal way of eating to boost your energy and to support spiritual endeavors. Students will take care of their own food for breakfast and dinner.

While Romanian cuisine does not typically feature many vegetarian dishes, Orthodox Christians in Romania have a tradition of “fasting” twice a week, during which time they only eat vegan food. As such most local restaurants will offer a variety of vegan dishes.

Bucharest also has a number of markets where you can buy fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, often at better prices than the supermarkets. You might also find wild berries and mushrooms from Romania’s mountains, pine shoots for making tea, sauerkraut, spices and many types of honey.

Accommodation

Students are responsible for finding their own accommodation for the workshop. A wide range of options are available ranging from budget hostels to private apartments and high-quality hotels. Prices are much more affordable than in other European cities.
